May '77 is so jam packed with amazing shows and the usual suspects (rightly so) get most of the attention: 5/4, 5/5/, 5/8/ 5/9, etc.

Near the end of the month they played two shows at Baltimore and then Hartford (5/28) that were every bit as good in some ways but seem not to get as much love.

I point here to the baltimore 5/26/77 show:

pay particular attention to the buttery and beatiful yet jammy EYES,....and the entire 2nd set really is a jaw dropper.

Samson/High Time/Big River/Terrapin>Estimated>Eyes>NFA (a real monster)>GDTRFB>R&R and a nice UJB encore.

So sweet.

I listened to the Baltimore show on 5/26/77 several times recently, and also think it ranks up there with those others you mentioned. The SBD is gorgeous (with brief AUD patches) and the performances are stunningly beautiful. They came on stage joyous and confident, and Jerry's solos are dripping with delight right from the start. Donna's harmonies are beautiful (perhaps my favorite Looks Like Rain). In the second set, Estimated > Eyes is quintessential late-70s Dead; NFA > end is a climax of joy, concluding with an especially fine UJB. "One of the Top Ten Shows of All Time," said capn doubledose (where is the good capn today?).

I like the Detroit show from 77.... nov 1st, I think. Might as well opener, At the Cabo Arena reminds me of diving with Califoriacation and Jerry chasing blow fish in the midnight phosphorus.
